Mission Statement
We believe Divine Providence directed us to continue the business and
ministry of the founders of St. Joseph’s Book Room, the Herman & Evelyn Lauber family. Our purpose (our mission) is to provide our community with
a physical place and a contemplative atmosphere filled with those articles
of faith & morals, scripture & tradition, teachings and good will that the
Catholic Church and our Christian heritage have passed on to us in this
21st century of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. |

History & Description
St. Joseph’s Book Room is a Christian, Catholic-oriented, Religious
Articles business located on Main Street in the center of downtown Fond du
Lac ... near the south shore of Lake Winnebago...between Milwaukee and
Green Bay...in East-Central Wisconsin, USA. St. Joseph’s Book Room has
served the religious & spiritual articles need of area families since an
inauspicious beginning from the basement of St. Joseph church in 1952. The
Lauber family operated the store as a business while raising three
children who assisted them into the 21st century. Evelyn, a tireless
octogenarian, ran the store for many years on here own until help arrived
in 2001, when Sharon & Dennis Malchow purchased the business. Evelyn
continues to assist us during especially busy times and many customers
still recall her good will and helpful manner with genuine fondness. We
continue an ever-expanding and extensive Christian-oriented and
Catholic-specific inventory including: Audio-Video purchase & rental,
Advent & Christmas gifts, Baby & Baptism items; Bibles & Prayer books,
Candles & Catechisms, Cards: Greeting & Prayer type; Christian Literature:
Subjects including; Apologetics, Apostasy, Apparition, Bereavement, End
time, Forgiveness, Marriage, Meditation, Home Schooling, Philosophy,
Prayer, Prophecy, Sacraments, Saints, Teen Sexual Awareness, and Theology.
